changing hosts file [CLOSED]

New postby Friend7 » Wed Mar 30, 2011 4:26 am

Hello,

Artica 1.5.033002 is changing hosts file.

I use "Do not allow artica change hosts file [X]"

but Artica modifies the entries.

All "localhots" entries and it changes the entries's order.
it moves the "ip_server server.domain.com server" to the end
and misconfigures what I have set.

Before 1.5.033002, Artica was working fine with the hosts file.

Everything works fine with this

Do not allow Artica change hosts file[x]

server_ip ns1.domain.com ns1
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.1 virtual.domain.com virtual

Artica changes to

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
server_ip ns1.domain.com ns1

Also, I saw this one time.

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.1 ns1.localhost.localdomain localhost
server_ip ns1.domain.com ns1

Artica changes the order, add entry and delete entry.

This feature does not work: Do not allow artica change hosts file:

server_ip ns1.domain.com ns1
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
127.0.0.1 anything.domain.com anything

Artica deletes all entries like this 127.0.0.1 anything.domain.com anything

Also, It misconfigures my settings and so on.

Artica only keeps these
server_ip ns1.domain.com ns1
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

Version 1.5.030101 works ok

but Artica has that problem after version 1.5.033002

I had the same bug:
A) In Artica Management Console, Advanced options, System, Main Parameters, DNS Queries, Hosts file, Do not let Artica change hosts file, it's "checked on"...
BUT
B) Artica was modifying /etc/hosts ... every hour or ..?
C) file contents of
Code: Select all
/etc/artica-postfix/settings/Daemons/DisableEtcHosts
is 0.

TEST:
D) I manually edited the file and set to 1. Will see if Artica's daemon respect this and don't touch /etc/hosts.

DisableEtcHosts must be to 1 in order to force Artica to not modify hosts file
