Bad behaviors with Ubuntu Server !! [CLOSED]

Hi,

First,After installing the Fedora 16 and having some bad behaviors I decided to switch to Ubuntu server 11.I installed Ubuntu server, I added the Gnome to my machine. After that I launched the Artica installer.After finishing the install and rebooting,the system stuck many times, 3 to 4 times, on the authentification Step before switching to my desktop.I reinstalled the Gnome but the problem persist.
I tested the authentification step with the console mode and it's efficient 100% .

Second,when i decide to install a plugin with the web pateform , the dowloading of the plugin start but after some minutes the dowload stops without achieving 100% of the downloading.Is there any other way to install these plugins.

Artica is a server, gnome is not a part of Artica and it is not supported on a "server mode".
On Ubuntu the main rule when using a server is to follow the LTS distribution, others are only for testing mode.

Currently the LTS version is 10.04.

I understand that you have switched Linux distribution .
Why not using the Artica ISO that is designed to install in 5 minutes all required features ?

Dear sir ,
Tks for the reply , Yes I know that gnome is not a part of Artica, I installed the Gnome to accelerate and to facilitate the use of the O.S to our technician…
I will try to install the LTS version. Otherwise I would like to install an O.S for future utilisation.
Could you give me another option for installing the other plugins without using the web plateform?

I tested the second way, the system begin the downloading but in the compil process it failed !!

Good morning,
I'm re-installing the Artica with ubuntu lts 10 without the Gnome . I will test the second way, if the pb persist i will send you the error output.

Hi,
After installing ubuntu server LTS, and Artica, all processes are functional and stable.
To resume, you have not to install a GUI on the server, and try to install all plugins by the console.
