Backup Retranslation Disk

  When artica perform a standard backup task, it backup these datas:

  • LDAP database.
  • Mysql databases.
  • Mailboxes databases.


Every schedule, all datas are compressed in a file stored in the /opt/artica/backup folder.

Backup retranslation allows you to add automatically :

  • Samba shared folders in the backup.
  • Backuped mails by artica mimedefang.


Backup retranslation allows you to add specifics folders you want to backup and allows you to restore them by Artica interface.

All backuped files are moved automatically to an external/internal device in order to not load the main server disk.
It's a good solution to move all backed files on an USB device/external Hard drive to prevent any material crashes.


To drive this feature,you need to install dar (Disk Archive) main application:

apt-get install dar


After installation, Click on system on the left panel

 

On the System web page, select the "Update & maintain" tab menu.

Click on  "Artica-backup" icon

 

 




On Artica Backup main section, click on the "Retranslation Disk" tab menu. 

You first need to select a specific device, the main section show you what device is plugged on your system.

If you want, plugg a new device and wait artica discover it.

Choose your device disk that will store backup files.  

 

 

 A new windows show you status of your selected device.
If you want to add it, click on the left image.
On the right, section, you will show all devices you have choose that will store backups when artica will perform task. 

 

 

 

 

 


 

Add your own folders.

You can add every folders you want in the backup process.

  1. In the bottom of "Personal folders" click on "Browse button".
  2. Select in the windows the disk you want to browse.

 

A tree will show you the hard drive structure. Select your folder and add it.  

 

 

You have now added a directory in the backup process.

 

Recovery files or database.

To recover files, select the device you have added in the right panel.and click on the loupe icon.


 

  1. You will have a query manager that help you to find a backuped file.
  2. After found your backed file, you have 2 choices.
    1. One by the left arrow to restore the full backup container.
    2. Second by the rihgt arrow in the table to restore only the file you have found.Â
