If your users are asking for an autoreply feature when they’re on vacation, and you are currently using Artica version 1.3.050203 you will be able to provide a such feature.
Artica will drive gnarwl tool and create necessary postfix settings in order to make it in production mode.
All settings are stored in LDAP database.
Each hour, a script "/usr/share/artica-postfix/exec.vacationtime.php" is executed to automatically enable/disable the autoreply feature according user's schedules.
In this case, users are only in charge to enable the feature and set the vacation period trough Artica Interface.
This feature is no longer supported, it is replaced by Installing mailbox Filters like Thunderbird in RoundCube OR Activate Artica-Filter
Installing main components: gnarwl
For old artica versions, you need to install a new package by your repository manager :
For debian or Ubuntu
apt-get install libgdbm-dev
For CentOS, Fedora or OpenSuSe
zypper install gdbm-devel
yum install gdbm-devel
The setup-ubuntu, setup-debian, setup-centos... has been updated since version 1.3.050203.
- Go into Application Setup Center
- Select Messaging tab
- Click on install/upgrade on the GNARWL... rows and wait few minutes for the complete installation.
In an other way, you can execute in commande line :
/usr/share/artica-postfix/bin/artica-make APP_GNARWL

That's done... Now next step is for users !.
Set the auto-reply from the user front-end.
- You need to login on the Artica front-end has a standard user
- A new menu icon is displayed called Out of Office Auto-reply
- Turn the red circle to green and set the period with calendars you need to activate the auto-reply.
- Click on Edit button

Click on the top right "Vacation message" and modify the message that will be sent to senders.
