CLUSTERS: backends servers clustering

This feature is available with Artica 1.3.092616 version and cyrus-imap with replication enabled in compilation (version 2.3.8 and above)

 It allows you to create a master and a replica that able to dynamically replicate mailboxes on the 2 servers.

This feature is an active-passive cluster mode.

Associated with the frontend clustering  servers, you mail structure will be definitively enforced.

You must have 2 servers. the 2 servers will have Artica installed with imap features and replication enable.
The first server has the master can be your product server, the second will be a virgin server to make this operation.

Note: if replication mode is disabled, upgrade your current cyrus-imap version to the latest version trough the Setup Control Center
By default, all debian versions are note handle this feature (debian/Ubuntu), so you must upgrade them.

The operation is in the same page, i wanted to find the right interface to be more simple has possible and it's ok

Unde the messaging section,

  • Click on Mailboxes tab
  • Click on "Mailboxes clustering"

 

  • Under the Mailboxes clustering screen, turn to green the "Enable this server has the Master" and click on edit button.
  • After, click on Set your replica server

 

  •  Set in Name/IP of this server the address of your current Master server (usefull if you run in NAT mode between your servers).
  • Set in the Replica hostname/IP the address of the replica server (the virgin server).
  • Define the remote HTTPS listen Artica port (default 9000) and the user name and password Administrator to enter to Artica web console.

After click on Edit Notify the targeted server will be ordered to be a replica.
The 2 servers will change their configuration and restart mailboxes service.

To see the mailbox replication, you can click on Manual Mailboxes replication to perform replication now instead wait 1mn.
